Botox for excessive sweating
Why choose this treatment

Botox treatment for excessive sweating

Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) is not only uncomfortable but can also significantly affect quality of life. The Botox sweat-reduction treatment is an effective, safe and rapid solution for those who wish to enjoy months of relief from heightened perspiration in the underarms, palms or soles.

Botox temporarily blocks the nerve impulses that control the sweat glands, so sweating in the treated area is significantly reduced or stopped. The treatment acts only at the site of injection and does not affect the body's natural thermoregulation.

Things to know

Useful information

The first step is a detailed consultation, during which we discuss the patient's needs, the expected results and the possible risks. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis using a fine needle. The full duration of the treatment is 15–30 minutes depending on the area. If required, local anaesthesia can be applied to enhance comfort.

The treatment is an ideal solution for those who

  • struggle with excessive sweating,

  • find that conventional antiperspirants are not effective,

  • are looking for a long-lasting but not permanent solution,

  • whose sweating interferes with their work, sport or social life.

As a result of the treatment, the level of sweating is significantly reduced by up to 80–90%. The first improvement is usually noticeable within 3–7 days, while the final result develops over 1–2 weeks. The sweat-reducing effect of Botox typically lasts 6–9 months, and depending on individual characteristics, may last even longer.

  • Intense exercise, sauna, hot baths, sunbathing / sunbeds.

  • Alcohol consumption (may increase bruising).

  • Facial treatments (e.g. microdermabrasion, massage) for 24–48 hours.

These restrictions help to ensure a longer-lasting effect and reduce the risk of side effects.

  • During pregnancy or breastfeeding.

  • In the case of certain neuromuscular disorders.

  • Allergy to the active ingredient or any of the excipients.
